Rabbit: Netherland Dwarf
The Netherland Dwarf is unique breed whose popularity is ever growing. This petite rabbit is a hot favorite with children and those with space constraints.
Netherland Dwarf
Physical Appearance: It has a proportionally big round head, short ears, and bright eyes atop a furry, compact little body. Ideally weight only between 1½ lbs and 2½ lbs (approximately) 0.68 kg and 1.13 kg when fully grown.
Colors: Come in some 24 colors.
Temperament: Are curious and inquisitive. Have temperaments unique to each individual, from docile to feisty. Are sometimes shy and prefer to be alone, but you can earn their trust through frequent gentle handling. Enjoy interacting with their owners, and can offer you much affection.
Special Quirks: May stamp their feet to indicate fear, and lick your hand to say “I love you!”
Diet: Need more than vegetables—a proper diet comprises good fresh pellets, unlimited hay and some fresh greens (but not cabbage or iceberg lettuce, as these may cause bloating and diarrhea).
Lifestyle: Are hardy and can live outdoors, but only in a proper hutch providing shelter from sun, rain, wind…and cats! Can be toilet-trained with time and patience, if they live indoors.
Life Span: Can live about 10 years.
